Hurricanes Will Face Wisconsin In The Champs Sports Bowl

December 14th, 2009 @ 9:27:43 PM

The Champs Sports Bowl (12/29): No. 14 Miami vs. No. 24 Wisconsin
8 p.m. ET at Orlando, Fla., ESPN
Records: Miami 9-3, Wisconsin 9-3

Will Miami be able to stop the big 10 running attack of Wiscy? Not sure actually. However, I think we can outscore them in this game.

Looking for a 31-20 finish due to the Hurricanes air attack. Canes!

What a way to start off the season with a dramatic victory on the road against a much improved FSU team.

The Best Canes Team In Years

September 7th, 2009 @ 10:16:21 PM

The team looks put together. Unfortunately, the Seminoles have finally gotten their crap together as well.

Noles up 7 right now in the 4th with Canes driving.

Canes First Half Shows Potential

September 7th, 2008 @ 6:55:56 AM

The Canes went down to The Swamp and came out not winning. It was expected, but we wanted to see how the team looked.

I’ll tell you what, it looked a lot better than expected. Yes there were some special teams problems. However, the defense looked like there is some potential there.

As far as the offense goes, I wasn’t impressed. However, Marve had some flashes of brilliance, but they were far an few between. Hopefully, Marve can shine a little longer next time.

Canes Baseball Team Ready For NCAA Tournament

May 26th, 2008 @ 2:25:51 PM

“The University of Miami has earned the No. 1 national seed for the 64-team NCAA baseball tournament that begins Friday at 16 regional sites, the NCAA Division I baseball committee announced Monday.

This marks the first time since 1999 that UM has been the top seed. That year the Hurricanes went on to win their third national title. They won the College World Series again in 2001. UM also won national titles in 1982 and 1985.”

Coach Randy Shannon Plays No Games

July 24th, 2007 @ 6:27:36 AM

“Before, if you messed up, you were just going to run,” guard Derrick Morse said. “Some guys can run until the cows come home.

“Now, you’re not going to run, you’re just going to move down the depth chart. I think a lot of guys are maturing because of this. Hopefully, it won’t be an issue anymore.”

It’s part of Shannon’s plan, one that includes removing the names from the backs of game jerseys, to help restore a program that has competed below the standards expected at the University of Miami the past two years. It included a disappointing 9-3 finish in 2005 and an embarrassing 7-6 season last year that featured losses to Georgia Tech, Maryland and Virginia. There also was the brawl against Florida International and the shooting death of defensive lineman Bryan Pata that shed negative light once again on the Hurricanes.

3rd Quarter Canes 27 Hokies 0

November 5th, 2005 @ 9:45:46 PM

What sweet revenge this game is so far. Third quarter and the Miami Hurricanes are up 27 over the Virgina Hokies. Looks like total domination. I don’t want to count my eggs before they hatch, but this is looking like total domination in Blacksburg. Its about time too.

Maybe Hurricane Wilma brought the green, orange, and white some poise and execution to the Miami Hurricanes with some friggn strength this time around.

Can you tell I’m pumped?

Miami Beats Colorado 23-3

September 24th, 2005 @ 6:44:40 PM

I wasn’t impressed.

Miami had to settle three times for field goals when they should’ve had touchdowns. UM’s defense held strong through the first half in classic form.

Can Mason Crosby kick a friggn ball or what? That 58 yard field goal could’ve gone 68 yards easily!

Brandon Meriweather made 12 tackles and had an interception. This guy was playing possessed. Coker better give em the game ball.

So even though I wasn’t impressed overall, I’m pleasantly surprised with Kyle Wright’s ability even if UM had to settle for field goals. Miami has one of the best QB’s its had in years.
